The Rescue House and PETCO host an Adoption Fair the Third Saturday each month from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at the Mira Mesa PETCO. Adoption Counselors are on hand, and in some cases you may take your adoptive cat home the same day. For more information, and to download the adoption application, visit the Rescue House website. Saturday, August 22nd is WEBELOS DAY! All Webelos Scouts are invited to come and learn what Boy Scouts are all about. ~ climb our tower, walk the monkey bridge, shoot the catapults and it is all FREE! Saturday, August 22nd from 1 to 4 pm at the Mira Mesa Recreational Center, 8575 New Salem St, San Diego. Sponsored by Troop 1212, Mira Mesa’s Finest Troop!
A Summer Celebration: Thursday, August 27th at the Bernardo Winery, there will be an elegant fund raiser featuring gourmet foods, fine wines, micro brew beer, chocolateirs, relaxation spa & retreats, mini massages, live entertainment and more. Proceeds will benefit the Poway Unified School District Foundation, and ticket prices are very affordable at :$45 per person, $70 per couple, or $50 at the door. First 250 attendees receive a commemorative wine-tasting glass & plate and Unlimited food & wine tastings for everybody!

Pacific Coast Theater Company (a theater group made up of graduated MMHS Drama/Tech Theater kids) is having a play on Friday and Saturday called 50 Minutes of Shakespeare:
“50 Minutes of Shakespeare is a play written by members of Pacific Coast Theatre’s Design team, we have taken 4 of William Shakespeare’s tragedies condensed down and turned comical. There will be 3 performances, August 14th @ 6pm and the 15th @ 2:30pm** & 6pm
