Thank You for a Great Fourth of July Mira Mesa!

How many of you are still recovering from a mild case of sunburn that you got from enjoying the festivities on the 4th of July? I know that even though I put my SPF 50 sun block on first thing in the morning, and I had a hat on most of the day, the 2 hours I spent in the pool with my son in the afternoon did a number on my back and shoulders. No pain, no gain, right?

I hope you all got to take in most of the wonderful things Mira Mesa had to offer on the 4th, such as the Pancake Breakfast held at the Epicentre. The parade was great, as I enjoyed riding with my fellow

Mira Mesa Chamber of Commerce Member Michelle Tsai in the custom 858 Graphics Limo during the parade. It was great to see how many people were smiling, waving, and enjoying the afternoon in anticipation of the evening fireworks display. The Fun Day at the Park went smoothly, with several bands taking to the stage, and rides and games throughout the park for all to enjoy. There was a little different layout this year, and we would like know your feedback so we can pass on any information to the Fourth of July Committee for their benefit in planning next year’s event.

Doug videotaped the finale of the fireworks extravaganza again this year, and you can see that and some of the other 4th of July activities below. Thanks again for showing an interest, and viewing the footage we had last year and in the years to come.

We also want to thank the countless people who gave up most of their June and the first few days of July to make sure Mira Mesa had something to cheer about. Especially Sandy Smith, the Chairperson that managed all the ropes to make sure the day’s events went off without a hitch. Great job to you and your very dedicated board and committee members and supportive volunteers. We also want to thank all of our Newsletter Subscribers for their immediate and overwhelming response to the last minute requests for water, food, and participation in handing out letters to the businesses and residents that were affected by the running of the parade on the Fourth. You all pulled together to make it happen, and that is what makes Mira Mesa such a great community. So from us to you…THANK YOU!
