Visit Camino Ruiz Neighborhood Park for Baseball, Playground Fun, and Great View

If there is one thing that Mira Mesa knows, it is how to build a park. We have parks with basketball courts, some with baseball fields, some with large flat grass fields that are perfect for a game of football or soccer. Maybe you would rather take the kids to the playground, and let them climb, slide, and swing on the playsets that are surrounded by benches and tables. We even have some parks with nice walkways, both paved and gravel, for taking an early morning or evening stroll.

If you take a drive North on Camino Ruiz, at the very end before it turns into Calle Cristobal, you will run into the latest addition to our Mira Mesa Community Park System. The Camino Ruiz Neighborhood Park has it all. Three baseball fields where the Mira Mesa Youth Baseball Leagues play, one half court outdoor basketball hoop, a very large playground for toddlers and elementary school aged kids, and the most charming walking path with beautiful views of the canyons in Mira Mesa. There are also public restrooms and a snack bar when the Baseball League is in session. Did I mention the incredible view?

Planning a Birthday Party for your kids? You can reserve an awning covered area with tables for your celebration by contacting the Mira Mesa Parks & Recreation Dept. at (858) 538-8122. I remember having to get to the park at 8:00 a.m. on a Saturday morning to try to be the first one there to save the spot, and you had to wait until 11:00 a.m. for your guests to arrive. Now you can sleep in, but still make your reservations early since these spots are on a first come, first serve basis.
