Farmer's Market Mira MesaAfter a couple month winter hiatus, the Mira Mesa Farmer’s Market is back open and ready for business.

If you are looking for some farm fresh vegetables, fruits, flowers, specialty foods, farm fresh eggs, fish, baked goods, cheeses, olive oils, honey, jams and jellies, arts & crafts, boutique items, clothing, accessories, and more… then make sure you stop by each week.

The Market is open every Tuesday from 3-6pm and I believe it will be staying open until 7 with the next time change.

It is located right in front of Mira Mesa High School at the corner of Mira Mesa Blvd. and Reagan Rd.

I think the farmers’ market has gone downhill since last year. I am a devoted shopper and i have noticed there are fewer fruit/veggie vendors and some of those are obviously not monitored.
Last week I noticed Brussel sprouts at one stand for $2/pound and pre-made plastic bags with sprouts also for $2. When I asked them to weigh the package, the clerk claimed it was a pound, but the scale showed only 3/4 pound. This week, the green beans in plastic weighed the same as the loose beans cost per pound, but when i got the beans home, over half were so dried out and in the first stages of decay I had to throw them away. Most of us go to the market for FRESH produce and don’t mind paying a little more, after my past two experiences, I will go back to Henry’s or a Farmers market in another area for honest weight and really fresh produce.
