I-15 Traffic Alert

Carroll Canyon and Mira Mesa Blvd

San Diego, CA – 09/11/08 – Caltrans announced this afternoon 20 lane closures for I-15 Southbound on-ramps at Carroll Canyon Road and westbound Mira Mesa Blvd. that will be effective Friday, September 12, 2008.   Both on-ramps will remain open but with one fewer lane each.  The lanes are needed by Caltrans to provide room for construction of walls and lane improvements.  The lane closure will likely be several weeks.

Carroll Canyon on-ramp southbound I-15:

- Caltrans will reduce two on-ramp lanes to one lane.

Mira Mesa Blvd. westbound on-ramp to southbound I-15:

- Caltrans will close the high occupancy vehicle lane (HOV lane) but retain two through lanes.

Expected Traffic Impacts:

The on-ramp lane closures could impact I-15 on-ramps at other intersections such as Miramar Road, Pomerado Road, Mira Mesa Blvd, Scripps Poway Parkway, Hillary Drive, and Black Mountain Road.

Please be prepared to leave early and find alternative routes.
