I am glad that our community cares about Mira Mesa. I have been here since the late 1980s. I would be glad to donate and volunteer.
I agree with solving the following issues:
1) Walls
2) Shopping Carts
3) Littering
4) Keep green grass/Weed removal

How can we educate these very poor and unintelligent people that it is wrong to steal shopping carts from the store parking lot then abandon them in the neighborhood? Also how can we remind the community to put the trash in the trash receptable instead of littering. The people that party at the new Camino Ruiz neighborhood park can really trash up that place with litter and trash everywhere even on the hot coals container. Labor Day was really bad. Also, police should patrol that park after dusk because the teens are starting to hang out there to smoke. I thought smoking was banned in city parks now.

We really need a lot of us to come together to make this beautification happen because I love Mira Mesa.

I remember when Mira Mesa was nice, when I moved here in 1980. Now, there are way too many people and too many people that are very poor and unintelligent and don’t care about their neighborhood. Nice to see some people actually care! (yes, i have helped clean up Mira Mesa)

PS- I’m not calling out any race, gender, age, etc, etc…

I am so happy to see the community come together to help beautify Mira Mesa – it has been neglected for so long. All the other communites such as Carmel Mountain and Rancho Bernardo have all this beautiful signage and flowers welcoming the public. When you come off the off ramp at 15 South to turn right onto Mira Mesa Blvd, all you see is scorched earth, weeds and trash – that should be one of the next projects. Also, our “Welcome to Mira Mesa” signs are falling apart – the stones are falling off – and need to be replaced. We finally got the banners last year and that was a nice touch. We need to keep the momentum going!

We have a lot of Boy Scouts in Mira Mesa. They are always looking for service project. Also the high schoolers HAVE to do so many service project hours. I think it would be great to get these young people involved in making their neighborhood look better.
On that same thought lines, I thing the community should banned together to get these shopping carts out of our neighborhoods.I personally have pushed carts back to the store for ten blocks. I’ve approuched every store manager that I had seen carts for.They all gave me the same answer.”There’s a service that comes and picks them up. Well the service is not doing their job.I think if on a Saturday all Mira Mesa scouts (girl,cub and boy)rounded up these carts (under adult supervision)and retutned them to their store, our neightborhood would be a much cleaner looking place.

If you would like to “Adopt a Wall” you can go to Mira Mesa Town Council web-site at http://www.miramesatowncouncil.org and donate money. Each 5 gallon bucket costs $69.00 plus tax and covers approx. 75 feet. We have used almost $2,000 from Mira Mesa Town Council and 60 gallons of paint from Frazee.

But there’s lots of wall left, isn’t there? o.0

I’ll try to go to one of these if I can convince my friends to go.
Also, will there be someone who can sign our community service hours papers [since we're high school students]?
